Why we need your help more than ever before.

Due to federal budget cuts the HIV/AIDS epidemic was tremendously set back this year, and the end of the epidemic is no longer in sight. We are sad to report that the vision of our founder, Elizabeth Taylor, has been pushed significantly further into the future.

For people living with HIV, the year 2025 has rekindled fears reminiscent of the 1980s. Although there is now a deep understanding of HIV and effective tools exist to prevent its spread, significant challenges remain. Federal funding issues have triggered setbacks, and there is a real risk that the epidemic will worsen before improvements are seen.

So, what does this mean for ETAF, a public charity that has never accepted federal funding? Simply put, the demand for our programs has never been higher.

The solution before us is complex, but one thing is clear. Our donor support has never been more crucial and necessary.

“When I first joined the 50-Plus Program, I was struggling to navigate life as a long-term HIV survivor. I was isolated, consumed by grief and shame, and unsure of how to move forward. The community I found through 50-Plus changed everything".
